Clémence de Lartigue
Clémence de Lartigue began her apprenticeship with Gilles Duhaut in 2008. She then worked for six years in the workshop of Yannick Le Canu in Lille where she carried out the maintenance, the high restoration and the creation of bows as well as exploring these fields in her own space.
With this solid and rigorous experience, she created her workshop in 2019. For three years, she devoted herself solely to the creation of bows. It is without compromise and with passion that she continues her research, in order to push her abilities to the maximum.
She takes part in numerous exhibitions and workshops and discovers the CLAC, which she joined in 2021. She shares the collective’s strong values, its collaborative approach and its openness with musicians.
A beautiful collaboration also starts in 2022, in Angoulême, with the workshop of Valentine Dewit where she looks after the restoration and maintenance of old bows.
Clémence de Lartigue took part in her first bow making competition in 2023 in Mirecourt with a viola bow that won the gold medal and the " musician’s prize", rewarding its playability.
The workshop of Clémence de Lartigue is now based in Lorient.
