After graduating from Mirecourt School of Lutherie (1995), David embarked on a tour of Europe where he worked successively in the workshops of Jean and Jacques Bauer in Angers then Morris and Smith in London. He then spent 5 years as assistant to Jan Strick in Brussels. Fascinated by the instruments of the great Italian masters that he had the opportunity to restore and observe, he continued to perfect his skills and in 2004 won a first prize for a violin at the London International Competition, then another prize at the ‘Viola’s’ competition in 2009. He has been based in Vannes, Brittany since 2004. His experience and a stock of high quality timber allow him to craft instruments with a wide and warm sound, easy to play, which offer great musical Freedom.
